About the Role

The Senior Tax Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Global Tax team. This role will be responsible for acting as a lead tax specialist for the firm with regards to preparing income tax return schedules, tax compliance, tax procedures, tax research, and various special projects, while working with the Tax Manager to develop the Tax Analysts and lead them in their professional development endeavors. This role will be located in our Global Services Office located in downtown Los Angeles office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as mentor and leading the Tax Analysts in preparing accurate tax returns and ensuring appropriate tax compliance with regards to various tax procedures and special projects, including audits
  • Working with the Tax Manager to manage the firm’s global tax issues, communicate, and answer tax compliance questions
  • Analyzing data provided by the Finance and Accounting group and preparing tax schedules for the preparation of the global income tax returns, business tax returns, sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and international tax compliance requirements
  • Reviewing applicable general ledger analysis and performing quality assurance procedures
  • Researching global tax issues using Checkpoint, Bloomberg Tax, CCH, and Lexis

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Demonstrate excellent organizing, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Exhibit well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Display excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

And have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a similar field
  • A CPA or working progress toward CPA certification, preferably 
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in public accounting at a multi-office professional services organization 
  • Relevant experience with preparing partnership and/or individual income tax returns and international partnership and expatriate tax issues, preferably
