About the Role

The Senior Trial Technology Consultant is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team and will be responsible for consulting with attorneys and legal professionals about technology requirements, support, and graphics for trials, arbitrations, and hearings, while leading discussions with the legal teams to define trial support requirements, including hardware needs for court and breakout rooms, and the availability of case-related data. This role will be located in any of our U.S offices. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading negotiations with third-party vendors regarding cost and timing estimates for various services needed during trial, arbitration, or hearings, including hardware procurement, internet connectivity, and courtroom setup; ensuring that related invoices are routed to the correct party for payment
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for courtroom technology and graphics needs during the trial, arbitration, or hearing, while demonstrating a professional demeanour and high-level customer service to all team members
  • Providing hot seat support at trials, arbitrations, and hearings for both in-person and virtual events
  • Managing litigation support needs during trial, including scanning and printing of exhibits, creating or outsourcing demonstratives, loading transcripts, editing video, backing up, and transferring data
  • Coordinating with Practice Support Services team members to obtain client-matter databases, images, and other files for use at the trial site
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Possess expert-level knowledge in Trial Director, OnCue, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Exhibit proficiency with setting up and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, routers/firewalls, wireless access points, printers, copiers, multi-function devices, and audio/visual equipment
  • Demonstrate an expert understanding of litigation support tools, hardware technology, trial presentation software and hardware, and graphics software

 

And have:

 

  • A high school diploma, with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of trial technology experience, including in-court presentation and/or off-site war room support
  • A minimum of four (4) years of litigation support or related practice experience, preferably
