About the Role

The Business Development Manager- Experience is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team and will be responsible for delivering an efficient and effective system, team, and processes around the entire experience function while managing and developing the Business Development Experience staff, organizing, assigning, delegating, and coordinating the work of the staff to ensure department objectives are met timely and accurately, and conducting a formal performance evaluation for departmental employees. This role will be located in either our New York Office or Los Angeles office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Working with the Human Resources department to recruit and hire support staff and providing coaching, counseling, and discipline to departmental employees
  • Organizing and providing the Experience Specialists with regular training on firm resources, Business Development procedures, and best practices
  • Managing the research for the firm regarding matters, clients, industries, and practice areas
  • Working closely with the Technology Department, with respect to developing the database functionality and the integration with other enterprise systems
  • Proactively developing and enhancing efficiencies in the use of data, as well as work processes of the team in order to provide effective customer service
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains 

 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

 

  • Possess strong management skills and organization skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Web-based research resources (Hoovers, OneSource, CourtLink, etc.)
  • Display knowledge of Foundation or related Experience database preferred
  • Exhibit the ability to quickly grasp and summarize complex transactions and cases, with strong writing skills and attentiveness to detail

 

And have:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization
  • Relevant experience working with legal markets in the US, Europe, and Asia, preferably
