About the Role

The Manager - Legal Project Management (LPM) is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team and will be responsible for managing the matter management support that the team provides to attorneys via its automated reporting and self-service analytics, while overseeing LPM automated reporting, which includes coordinating with attorneys and support staff to set up tailored analytics. This role will be located in our downtown Los Angeles office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing and enhancing both LPM’s analytics and reporting governance
  • Ensuring the LPM team delivers a quality professional product within the established timeframe, and coordinating within the LPM team to ensure consistent procedures are followed that maximize accuracy and efficiency for both routine requests and longer-term projects
  • Coaching the LPM analysts and leading them in their career development
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment that is focused on building relationships with the attorneys, within the Global Finance Department, and with other professional support teams across the firm
  • Spearheading the development and rollout of self-service analytics that enhance client and matter management for attorneys and across the firm
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills needed for all primary duties of the position, including comprehending and communicating data, ideas, and processes
  • Possess advanced skills in automated reporting, business intelligence, and relational databases
  • Display advanced and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

 

And have:

 

  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent, preferably in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, statistics, or another related field
  • A graduate degree in a related field, preferably
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of analytical experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of experience leading projects and other initiatives
  • Relevant experience in finance or related professional services environment, preferably
  • A minimum of two (2) years supervisory/management experience
  • Previous experience in a customer-focused position, preferably
