About the Role

The Associate Recruiting & Legal Talent Junior Coordinator is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent team. This role will be responsible for the recruitment and hiring of top talent for all associate-level positions at Latham & Watkins, while acting as a liaison between local and global management committees, collaborating with Associate Recruiting and Legal Talent leadership to facilitate effective communication and information sharing, and engaging with relevant stakeholders to apply employment and recruitment policies and organize approval processes. This role will be located in our San Diego office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the applicant process by preparing correspondence with recruits, maintaining filing systems and databases, processing applicant materials for review by appropriate individuals and committee members, and coordinating interview schedules for recruits and interviewers
  • Assisting in organizing and representing the firm at recruiting events and external functions, including the firm’s Summer Program and recruitment initiatives
  • Providing comprehensive support for initiatives aimed at associate morale and retention, including, but not limited to, assisting with associate reintegration post-leave and serving as a point of contact for attorneys regarding orientation and integration
  • Collaborating with the manager on research projects and reporting, contributing to the development of PowerPoint presentations and other materials to support internal information sharing, presentations, and training
  • Handling administrative tasks for the team, such as gathering agenda items and documenting meetings, managing expenses and reimbursements, maintaining the team Intranet page, and monitoring the office calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Exhibit well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively at all organizational levels and work well in a team with a customer-service focus
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion, possess strong analytical skills with minimal supervision, and maintain attention to detail for quality assurance
  • Possess organizational skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office, applicant tracking systems, and interview platforms

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Previous professional experience, preferably
