About the Role

The Business Development Senior Specialist – Global Capital Markets & Public Company Representation is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for working in close collaboration with key market leaders and colleagues across the Business Development Department to support the Capital Markets & PCR Practice’s overall marketing and business development goals, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of practice, market and industry expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships 
  • Leveraging their understanding of the firm’s client base to analyze opportunities and successes 
  • Identifying and reporting on market share across practice areas, products, industries, and markets 
  • Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies, including collaborating with relevant BD teams 
  • Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
  • Executing on high profile sponsorship and branding opportunities, as well as key events and webinars that aim to drive new revenue and support client growth
  • Developing internal communications to inform relevant practice and industry groups of significant achievements, developments, and market synergies
  • Project managing and drafting submissions for legal directories and related industry guides
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Demonstrate a high degree of discretion and independent judgment 
  • Possess the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively 
  • Exhibit exceptional verbal, written communication, and professional interpersonal skills 

And have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related subject matter experience and related analytical experience  
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working within Corporate and Finance practice areas, preferably
