About the Role

The Senior Specialist - Internal Events is an integral part of Latham’s Events, Sponsorships & Travel team. This role will be responsible for providing assistance to the Internal Events team to run a successful events program for Latham staff and attorneys, while planning and managing multiple event projects, either individually or in collaboration with other team members, throughout the year from initial conception to onsite execution and post-event reporting. This role will be located in either our Global Services Office (Downtown Los Angeles) or our Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence, and will also require frequent travel to attend events as necessary.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with key stakeholders to coordinate all details of events, including members of Business Development, TACE (Training and Career Enhancement), practice group chairs, and others
  • Ensuring best practice across all events to maintain the high quality service our internal clients expect
  • Providing accurate and timely completion of assignments and inquiry responses, ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed within the firm’s set guidelines and policies
  • Assisting in training and mentoring junior event staff
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all organizational levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a client-service focus
  • Possess strong attention to detail, even under pressure

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an events-focused role, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience, preferably
  • Experience with Cvent or other event management software, preferably
  • An events qualification, preferably
