About the Role

The Manager – Client Events, US is an integral part of Latham’s Events, Sponsorships & Travel team. This role will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing clientfacing events and experiential opportunities, while owning and leading the endtoend strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of a portfolio of client events, including seminars, conferences, sponsorships, and hospitality experiences. This role will be located in our Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a strategic advisor to partners and senior stakeholders on event strategy, format, audience targeting, and execution
  • Partnering with Business Development colleagues to understand strategic objectives across practices, industries, and markets, and curating event strategies that align with those goals
  • Providing seniorlevel oversight of event logistics and execution during the planning process and onsite, proactively identifying and resolving risks or issues
  • Leading event budgeting and financial oversight, including budget development, spend tracking, vendor negotiations, and postevent return on investment (ROI) reporting
  • Partnering with Business Development, Brand & Communications, and other internal teams to ensure consistent branding and integrated communications
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Exhibit good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Possess welldeveloped and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a customerservice focus

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • An events qualification, preferably
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in a law firm or other professional services environment, preferably
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience
