About the Role

The Attorney Support Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Attorney Support team. This role will be responsible for organizing, supervising and developing Attorney Support staff in the office, while establishing strategic and operational priorities for the Attorney Support team in the office. This role will be located in our Boston officePlease note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring workflows and coordinating support assignments based upon daily firm and client needs
  • Meeting and maintaining firm staffing goals by establishing effective and efficient assignments for attorneys and paralegals and recommending appropriate reallocations
  • Coordinating with other department supervisors and managers regarding operational issues, and other logistical and resource requirements
  • Working with coordinators and supervisors to ensure coverage for both planned and unplanned absences, while arranging coverage as required
  • Making recommendations in regard to resource planning and recruitment needs
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership skills (e.g. organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management
  • Exhibit well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus

And have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, preferably a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a legal or professional services environment of relevant experience
